When it comes to summer beauty, there’s one step that is absolutely essential:

Protecting your hair.

After all, summer is the time when your hair is most prone to damage… dryness, split ends, frizz… the list goes on!

And because my inbox has been brimming with questions about dry hair… today I want to tell you about a simple way you can “undo” this damage — and restore your hair to its natural, gorgeous shine (it’s something I personally can’t live without during this time of year)!

Damaged Hair

I call it my “shine-boosting” styling spray — and it’s something you can use every day to nourish dry, damaged hair.

And by the way, this DIY treatment doesn’t just protect your hair from damage — it also makes styling your hair even easier. So even if your hair isn’t prone to dryness, this is a great way to prep your hair for any look.

Here’s how it’s done:

My “Shine-Boosting” Styling Spray

What you’ll need:

½ cup coconut water
½ cup aloe vera juice
2 teaspoons coconut oil
2-3 drops lavender essential oil
Small spray bottle

Combine all ingredients in a small spray bottle.
Twist the nozzle on, then give the bottle a gentle shake.
Spray onto damp hair, starting 2-3 inches from your scalp.
Work your way down to the ends, then style as usual.

I recommend using it while your hair is still slightly damp, but you can also apply a few spritzes to dry hair for touch-ups throughout the day if needed. When you’re done, you’ll immediately notice how much softer your hair looks and feels — even after the first use!

Give your hair a quick spritz every morning — especially if you know you’ll be spending a lot of time in the sun. So whatever your summer has in store — whether you’re planning a fabulous getaway, or you’re simply spending more time in the sun…

Your hair will be ready!
